Pleasant Interruptions

This week-end was marked by a few pleasant interruptions.

On Saturday my friend Joy wanted me to go with her to look at an apartment. The apartment was in a bad location so, she did not even look at it. It was so wonderful to have an excuse to spend some time together that we didn't mind.

Saturday night I went to Spanish church. After church they were selling home-made chicken tacos. Yummy!

I had the opportunity to watch part of the movie Ben-Hur. I had listened to the Focus on the Family dramatized version and was completely captured by the emotion of the moment when they portray Jesus on the cross. I have yet to read the book. However, there was a line that made me clap my hands together for joy (not even joking about that). Ben-Hur and Balthazar are watching the crucifixion. Ben-Hur turned to Balthazar (who was supposed to be one of the wise men) and said something about how sad that it had to end with His death and then (great swell of emotional music) Balthazar says no it is just the beginning! I did not convey the moment very well but, it really touched my heart.

All seemed lost, dark, and hopeless and for a few brief hours it truly was. Then like sunlight penetrating through a dirty attic window, He was back and in His pocket jingled the keys to death, hell and the grave!
Thank God for the beginning!
Have a great day! I hope this has been a pleasant interruption.

That's enough to make even me shout for joy! LaRae loves the book. It's slow at first, but once you get into it, it's awesome!
Blessings upon blessings, my dear friend! Love you!
